Engagements, New Babies, and Famous Relatives

Also known as: three posts in one. :)

My fourth niece was born saturday! She makes me an aunt x7 now. I have my fourth nephew due in December, and that's all on the horizon at this point.

Also, one of my cousins was in How I Met Your Mother tonight! He'll be on it again next week, and his brother will be on Law & Order this month as well. You see what moving to hollywood does to you?! ;D

AND lastly, I had my first engagement shoot this week! What do you think?

My First Photo Shoot

Today I roped my best friend into being my model for my first individual photoshoot. I love pictures, and my hubs and I have a great camera, and I'm seeing other people get paid $300 for an hour of photography. So, I decided that I was going to learn how to take great photojournalistic photos (um, only because I love them) so we never have to pay people to take our kids pictures.

What do you think?

Should I ever create a company and actually charge people for pictures, I think it will be called Life Via Pics. Hehe.

Posting Failure (+Pics)

I know I haven't posted in...well, weeks. I actually wrote a post last week, mostly, but never posted it. I'm just out of the swing of blogging. But, eventually I'll be back. I swear.

We went to an Old West Festival a couple weeks ago here. It was cute, but pricey for the events within it. I think they are trying to get it going as a yearly event, this being the first year.

And on the way home we met this cow. He's not special. We just liked him. And we named him EmoCow.

Little Man started playing football. He's really enjoyed it so far! He ought too, he's the biggest kid on the team. He's #48 catching the ball below.

And we got a Cricut...for my mom...that I love. More on this later.

Blizzard Bloghop

Photobucket

Thanks to Household 6 Diva, I have something to do today! Thought it would be a good way to tell you guys a bit about myself, and meet some new bloggy friends!

Anyway.

I'm Via. I'm a 20-something blogger. I'm currently in college, attaining my education degree (hey, they say the average degree takes 5.6 years to actually complete...right?).

On May 15th, I'll be marrying my amazing air force officer, B.

And then we'll be moving way "out west" via Air Force. (And if you know anyone in Wyoming, I'd love to chat it up!).

This is my dog, Chase. He's awesome.

I love Photography. I'm a writer and a crafter.

But more than anything, I love to travel. Kenya, by far, is the best place I've ever been.

I love to advocate for things, especially breast and childhood cancers and groups especially for violence against women.

I started this blog originally to meet other air force/military wives to see what life was like for them (you?). And it's been amazing!

Stories from the Phonotographer

Since my camera broke a few weeks ago (sad!) I have been taking just a couple photos with my cell phone. Which are horrible, by the way. But tell a good summary of things that have been happening lately...

The best game of Jenga ever played. At work. Yea...we work hard.

My sister's "crosseyed chinese cat." He fell off this table immediately after this picture. He's so awesomely random.

There is a bridge here. With iron walls and a ceiling. You can't see it because of the ridiculous fog. ...not that I took this while driving, or anything...

This crazy guy hangs out on my campus. He rants about completely random and conspiracy theory things. This time he was yelling about sports drinks causing alcoholism. He calls himself "Magician of 1" ....yea.

We bought some of those "growing capsules" at the dollar store the other day and tossed them in a bowl of water. Chase was fascinated.

This is why I never fill the truck's gas tank. I usually stop at $20. In the end I spend the same amount, but spending $50+ on ONE gas run makes me feel incredibly poor.

I also put up christmas and took a picture of it, but apparently that pictures doesn't wish to appear in my email. Sad!

Old Houses with Rotted Floorboards

Just down the street from me there is this really old, really abandoned house on a busy road. I decided it would be fun to risk getting arrested for trespassing yesterday and go take some photos of it. I love pictures of old houses. I don't know why, I just do. I did go IN the house, although I didn't stay long when I realized it had a basement/cellar/dungeon as I prefer not to fall into it, but I got a few fun shots. But I did manage to talk myself out of going up the stairs to the second floor.
