I'd like to thank...

G.I. Joe's Wife and Mrs. Sergeant for these lovely awards! ...back in February, that I am just getting too. Thanks ladies!

The rules are:
1. Thank and link to the person that gave you the award.
2. Pass this award on to 15 bloggers you’ve recently discovered and whom you think are fantastic.
3. Contact said Blogs and let them know they've won
4. State 7 things about yourself

New bloggers of greatness that shall be receiving this award are:

G.I. Joe's Wife
Me, Him and the Army
Diary of an Air Force Wife
Scatterbrained Frame of Mind

7 things about me:

1. I LOVE Horizon Organic vanilla low-fat milk. The fact that our local grocery chain has just started carrying it in individual boxes makes me giddy.
2. I'm a sucker for heartfelt cards and letters. Not so much for cheesy lines.
3. I really miss working at a bookstore, because I did 98% of my reading in those days while I was there.
4. Finding/using a good pen makes my whole week.
5. Pepsi is way better than Coke.
6. Nights when all the windows in the house are left open are my favorite. I love to hear the sounds from outside in the evening and morning.
7. The One Tree Hill soundtracks have provided me with 90% of my favorite music over the past four years. And I don't even watch the show anymore.

Rules
1. Post where you want to be in 10 years
2. Pass it on to 10 of your bloggy friends!

In ten years, I hope to have two beautiful children and be living somewhere warm. Or, at least, south of the horizontal line that we can't seem to get off of. Maybe Europe, maybe Hawaii. We will see! And I'll be teaching, of course, but that's a given. I hope to be actively, highly, involved in some kind of charitable organization in support of one of the billion things I love to support. I plan to be disaster-relief trained by the red cross for house fires and natural disaster readiness. And I'll be loving my life!

Lucky loves receiving:

Mrs. Sergeant
jesstagirl and her officer
New Girl on Post
Sgt and Mrs. Hub
That [Officers] Wife

Thanks again ladies!

Bye Bye, Wisdoms!

[Psst. There's an award at the end of this :) ]

'Tis true! I had all four of my wisdom teeth cut out this morning. I honestly feel quite fine, but the numbness on the inside of my mouth is just now starting to where off, so I'm sure my opinion will change before two long. The numbness on the outside of my face is still there. On one side of my face it's numb all the way to my temple and over a bit into my hairline...I find that odd haha.

They gave me the "good drugs," but I learned the last time I had knee surgery (erm, fall of 2007 I think?) that I do not do well on these things. They make me pretty sick. So by the end of tomorrow I'll probably be done taking them--so far, I've only had one!

And just for the record, I should say, that laughing gas...really only makes you laugh when your 6. When your an adult, all you want to say is "there's nothing funny here..." it also seemed a bit unnecessary, since they immediately IVed me and used IV drugs to put me out anyway?? Eh, it's all good. I'm not as swollen, at least right now, as I thought I'd be. I may be worse tomorrow, but today I pretty much look normal on the outside. I'll be back to my normal self completely soon and I'm already bored so...maybe my house will be cleaned before i go back to work and class? Ha!

Anyway, Kreativ Blogger!

I was given this award this week by Hannah at That [Officer's] Wife AND Jess at Jesstagirl and her Officer! These are both wonderful bloggy-ladies and I'm lucky to have found them! Thanks girls!

Here are the rules:

1.) Thank the person who gave this to you!
2.) Copy the logo and place it in your blog!
3.) Link the person who nominated you!
4.) Name 7 things about yourself that no one would really know.
5.) Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6.) Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7.) Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know you nominated them!

1. I will go to O'Charleys and order a house salad and a "couple rolls with butter" to go. It's amazing, and costs less than Wendy's.
2. I have an addiction to shopping for dogs on petfinder. We can't get one now, and for at least a year after the wedding and maybe even longer depending on where we end up living, but I stinking LOVE looking for dogs. And not puppies, rescues. I would take Ava home in a second.
3. I get a lot of compliments on my engagement ring. It really does sparkle, and I love it. But everytime someone says "I LOVE your ring!" I take it as a compliment in our relationship rather than the ring and I smile just thinking about B.
4. I have to find a halloween costume for this year still. We are allowed to dress up at work if you work that day. If I don't, I was invited to two parties--I love costumes, but I don't find any want to dress up on one of those slutty costumes all the women seem to find amazing these days. I don't care who you ask, Raggedy Ann never wore a belly shirt.
5. I am thoroughly addicted to winter hats. I have a MILLION of them. I wear them maybe 10 times total, because they give me hat hair. But I love them and I continue to buy them.
6. I love art. I considered going to school for art education for a long time. Until my common sense laughed in my face and said "yea, good luck finding a job."
7. Katherine Heigl is no longer on my "ew" list, which she joined after bitching for more money on Grey's. She was relieved from her position on the "ew" list when she adopted a special needs baby. Yay Naleigh!

The nominees are:
jlc from French Kiss
Kat at Mama Kat's Losin It
New Girl at New Girl on Post
d.a.r. at Just Another Day
hilary at High Heels & Combat Boots
Jessi at Welcome to the Zoo
Lindsay at And we'll just laugh along the way...

Me! (...me, and possibly you)

First, I have to say, I FINALLY got us a reception hall! Fairgrounds it is. It's cheap, it's tons of parking, and I can decorate it the day before. Winner. :o)

I received this award from Jess over at Jesstagirl and her Officer. Thanks lady! She's pretty awesome and has a nice giveaway going currently so you should stop by and check her out!

1. Who is the hottest movie star? Ever? Will Smith. Available? Channing Tatum

2. Apart from your house and car, what is the most expensive item you have ever bought: A plane ticket from London to Mombasa.

3. What is you most treasured memory? This is a tough one. I remember when I was a little girl I would sit on my Poppy's lap and he would tickle me till I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. (I'm actually keeping this even though it was Jess's answer because the same thing is true with my Pa).

4. What was the best gift you ever received as a child: A trampoline. We all got it as a collective gift for Christmas one year from our grandparents. It sucked that day, because I was sick and it was cold and I wasn't allowed to play on it, but after that it was like the godsend of all gifts.

5. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made? I think it was transferring colleges.

6. 4 words to describe yourself: sarcastic, complicated, adventurous, loving

7. What was your highlight or low light of 2008? highlight was definitely our proposal night.

8. Favorite Film? 10 Things I Hate About You. Forever and Always.

9. Tell me one thing I don’t know about you. When I'm upset with something I never say anything about it until I feel that it's too late, and then I just avoid all parts of it.

10. If you were a comic book/strip or cartoon character, who would you be? Zoey on Baby Blues.

Now it's my turn to pass this award on to some of the awesome blogs I follow:

Lindsay at And We'll Just Laugh Along the Way...

Hannah at That Girl

Hilary at High Heels and Combat Boots

JLC at French Kiss

and an extra one for fun...

New Girl at New Girl on Post

Awards and Things!

This week I had this award kindly bestowed upon me by the fantastic girly over at High Heels & Combat Boots! Thanks, lady!

I guess that means I have to come up with my 7 most favorite things ;)

1. Creatures in the infant or toddler stage. Really, anything this age. This includes children, puppies, kitties, hamsters, birds...if it's little and has that awkward head-too-large-for-body-size thing that Mickey Mouse has evolved into, I love it. This rule, however, does not apply to creatures with more than four legs or less than two.

2. Grilled Cheese. This was my first love, and will be my last. I am constantly made fun of for going to nice restaurants and ordering a grilled cheese. Even places without grilled cheese on their menu, I can probably be found asking for it anyway. And yes, it is usually from the kids menu. And yes, I am secretly 10 years old still.

3. My family. We are crazy, nuts, and 99% of the time there is a huge tiff (currently it's the fact that too many of the guys want to use the barn at the same time and no one wants to clean it...life altering). But we love each other, I love the way I grew up, and I wouldn't have changed it for the world. Some people think we're nuts for all living on the same road right next to each other, and from the outside I can easily see this, but from the inside I'm very glad it's like this.

4. My friends. I don't see them as often as I used too, and many don't live anywhere close to me anymore, but the few I still keep in decent contact with know when something's going on before I tell them, and are always there. Especially my bestie. They are amazing.

5. Boy Meets World. When the crap are all the seasons going to be released? Seriously?!

6. Music. Country, pop, rock, alternative, jazz, score, even rap on occasion...anything. I love it, and I need it, and I have it all the time (even now, sitting here, there is music playing). Especially 90's music--it melts my soul.

7. B. No one is better. We've known each other for 9 years, and he knows exactly who I am...and he loves me despite it. He's there when I need him, and there when I don't. He accepts the fact that I never remember our anniversary, and that he does more future-talk than I do, and lets me have control of the radio in both cars. If I ask him to do something with me, even if he really doesn't want to, he willing does it because he knows it's important to me. He is amazing, and the most important thing in the world to me.

Now to tag my 7 people...

1. Lindsay over at And we'll just laugh along the way...
2. Melissa over at New Girl On Post
3. D.A.R. at Just Another Day in Paradise
4. Air Force Wife at Sunflowers and Dragonflies
5. Emily at Of Course I Like You
6. Meshele at Intimations in the Intime
7. Jay at halftime lessons

Thanks! :)

Awards and Purses!

First, an Award from Lindsay! Thanks lady!

"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award!"

I'm pretty sure everyone who follows me and who I follow has been tagged for this already, except a few who certainly deserve it (and they were probably tagged too, and I missed it, but just incase):

DAR at first comes love, then comes marriage
jlc at French Kiss
and I know she's already been tagged, but she deserves another:
Indiana.Girl at The Yellow Ribbon Diary

Get at it, girls! =]

Now onto the "show me" purse game!

1. Post a picture of the bag/purse/handbag/pocketbook {whatever you call it!} that you are carrying! Now, don't you even think about going back there to your closet and getting that cute little clutch that you carried before you had children or the last time you went out ;-) I want to see the purse that you carried today! I'm just going to add "discuss the contents" into this, because everyone is doing it anyway.

2. Tell us how much it cost! Oh my, I know what you are thinking - a Southern Belle neva discusses matters of money, darlin'. Well, yes, but today we are gonna break that rule and tell! Yes, tell how much it cost. We won't judge! This is for entertainment purposes only! And if there is a story that goes along with this purse, tell it!!

3. Tag some other girls. It will be fun to see what everybody else posts :-)

It's a Vera Bradley, and I think it cost around $50. I actually got it for Christmas from my dad (yes, the man did walk into the vera bradley store full of purses and cosmetics and pick it for me) in the same pattern, but a different shape, and I am fully addicted to this shape. It's just perfect for my stuff. It is very, very rare that I spend this kind of money on a purse for myself, so most the time when I'm carrying a vera bradley it's because someone else got it for me.

The contents:

-checkbook (I do have a nice, complete wallet...I just don't carry it)
-2 pencils
-2 pens
-3 batteries (to refill the camera)
-chapstick
-a wooden TUIT coin
-and a bottle of tylenol PM (which was only there because I grabbed the smallest bottle I could find and threw a couple excedrin in it on the way out the door one day because I had a migraine)
-camera (obviously, not pictured)

This is pretty typical for my purse most the time, to have nothing in it. I used to be Mary Poppins jr. and could pull basically anything out of a purse this size, from sippy cups to lotion to any kind of aspirin you could possibly need, even novels or notebooks and other things you'd never had believed would fit in there. But this year I'm pretty simple about what I carry.

I'm also not tagging anyone special for this, because I'm tagging everyone. That's right, if you haven't done it...you are tagged. And if you do it and I'm not officially following you, would you mind dropping me a comment to let me know you did it so I can see what you are you toting around? :)

Have fun!
